The group of Biomedical and Metabolomic Analysis of the University of Geneva is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and talented PhD student to develop novel analytical approaches for the relative and absolute quantification of biomarkers of exposure. For this purpose, separation techniques hyphenated with high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) detection to simultaneously will be used to identify and quantify different families of metabolites, i.e. steroids, complex lipids, sugars, amino and fatty acids, with an aim to highlight metabolic alterations induced by exposure to toxicants and/or by certain pathologies. These analytical developments will be mainly applied to research projects using New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) in collaboration with the Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT) and other research partners. Participation in clinical studies is also foreseen for the biochemical phenotyping of metabolic profiles in various situations.
